Stately Homes by-the-Sea to benefit the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey will take place May 3 through June 12, 2011 at Holly Hill, a historic country estate nestled in Locust, one of the most beautiful water view locations in New Jersey.
More than 35 of the region's top interior designers, decorators and landscape artists will transform this pre-war treasure, creating a home that reflects the history and bucolic setting of the estate while incorporating the contemporary elements of elegant 21st century living.
Internationally acclaimed designer Alexa Hampton will serve as the Honorary Design Chair joined by Dr. Norman Hungerford as Honorary Landscape Chair. New York Spaces magazine is among the media sponsors of this year's Show House.
“Once again, we are extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to spotlight a Monmouth County classic estate as the venue for Stately Homes by-the-Sea,” said Mindy Minerva who joins Liz Thees and Nancy Mulheren as co-chairs of the event. Built in 1934, Holly Hill is set on over 12 acres featuring dozens of holly trees that gave the estate its name. The handmade brick Georgian style house retains many of the original features such as the unique “Alladin Lamp” exterior staircase and includes a pool house and extensive gardens.
Stately Homes by-the-Sea debuted in 2007 and quickly gained popularity, attracting over 13,000 attendees to each home and becoming a coveted showcase for those in the design world.
Stately Homes by-the-Sea Designer Show House is presented by Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNACJ), a member of VNA Health Group. Founded in 1912, Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey is the largest voluntary, nonprofit home care agency in New Jersey serving more than 120,000 individuals each year throughout New Jersey.
Attendees may round out their day at Holly Hill with lunch at the Show House Café provided by Salt Creek Grille and shopping at the show house designer boutique.
Stately Homes by-the-Sea is open Tuesday - Sunday, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. There are no refunds and no rain dates for this event. Please note that the Show House is not handicapped accessible. Children under the age of 12 will not be admitted.
